Fitness Friday-Friday 5s…..5 Brands I Love!

It’s FRIDAY!!!! TGIF!!!

Where has this week gone!?!?

Friday link- ups today with -DC Trifecta of Cynthia, Mar and and Courtney for Friday Fives and with Jill for Fitness Fridays!!

FitnessFridayRev3Fitness Friday:

This week has been a rest and recover week for me.  I have come to realize that my body needs about 5 days to recover from racing and so I have given my body what it needs and have rested outside of football practice which was actually more strenuous than I was intended to participate in.

I completed my #rockyourcore for Mon, Wed and Thursday (side planks, v-ups and bicycles-I did 4 sets of 40 for each exercise) this morning. I will do better next week with completing the moves on the scheduled specific day!

Ok -sorry I digressed……back to the regular scheduled programming…..

I have fitness and non-fitness brands on this post.

Work Brands that I love:

Banana Republic

I love their clean lines and simplicity.  I also love their sales!!! I am not one who will pay full price for much and clothes is one of those things that require a sale AND/OR a coupon for me to purchase it. My work outfit yesterday was full Banana Republic from the shirt to the shoes. I actually got many complements on the fit and look of my outfit yesterday.

Wait does that mean on other days, I don’t look as nice-haha!

Ann Taylor Loft and Ann Taylor

Similarly to Banana Republic, I think both Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft have very clean lines and have a level of sophistication to them that I find very appealing.  I am a pretty simple (in a good way) dresser and like to look polished and put together and I think both Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft provide that.  Ann Taylor Loft is the less expensive of the two companies and both have great sales and discounts.

Fitness Brands I love:

Nike

-Nike has the cutest and best fitting gear.  Their jackets, capris, tights, boy cut shorts fit me to a tee and I love how ‘athletic’ I look when I wear Nike.  I also love their graphic statement tees..

They can be a bit pricey but they also have good sales and coupons.  When I go to Orlando in January, my 1st stop off the plane is to the Nike Clearance outlet.  This is the clearance of the clearance! I always leave room in my suitcase for my trips to the outlets while I am down there.

LuluLemon:

I know…I know….they are WAY TOO PRICEY….like I actually can’t imagine spending that much money on things that I am going to sweat in!!! I only get items from them when they are on sale and they have to look DAMN good on me! Like ‘are you a model/do you work out?’ look good!!! I have to admit though, I do love how their material feels and I have to admit, I do look good in it!!!  I got so many compliments on my jacket that I wore to the Cherry Blossom 10 miler. I don’t know if it was more because it fit in with the Cherry Blossom theme or if it just looked good on me but either way, the compliments were nice 🙂

Mizuno:

rs

I couldn’t finish this without talking about my favorite running shoe!!!! I used to run is Saucony only because, they were the ones that were on sale when I went to buy shoes (pre-running days).  When I got serious about running and started training for my 1st half marathon, I knew I had to get the right shoe for the job. Once I got running analyzed and was told that I needed a stability shoe then began the search for the right shoe.  I HATE heavy shoes and was devastated that all of the level stability shoes that I needed weighed a ton and felt like bricks on my feet.  Then I found the Mizuno Wave Inspire 10.  They only weighs 7.9 oz!!! How many stability running shoes are that light??!!! As my luck would have it, they are discontinuing this shoe 😦 and so at some point I will have to find another one- so I am on the look out for another one but until then I will buy every 8.5 that I can find!!!

Runner ups: Carol’s Daughter, Under Armour,Victoria’s Secret, Bobbi Brown,David Yurman

I love Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. I feel like their stuff always fits so well. I haven’t tried lulu lemon yet because of the price but it’s good to know to keep an eye out for sales!

I’ve worn Wave Inspires for YEARS. I keep hearing they will be discontinued but I can’t confirm that. Generation 11 is out now, and plenty of 10s are still available too. Should we stockpile?

My favorite, favorite work clothes are things I’ve gotten on the Ann Taylor or Banana Republic sale racks! That stuff never goes out of style (I think and hope, since I still wear things that I got long ago!). I wore those Mizunos for a while and had worn the 9s too! I switched shoes a while ago – what are they replacing the 10s with? An 11 or are they just flat out discontinuing?

I wear those Mizunos, too! I wear them for racing and speedwork, and a sturdier shoe (Hokas) for everyday running and long runs. I am also a fan of Banana, although try to avoid buying anything there that isn’t on sale. 🙂

Great list. I use ASICS but Mizunos look nice. My shoe is 2 versions old (bought a second pair after the next version came out dirt cheap) so when I need another pair, I plan to get fitted again and see what feels best. I have some stability as well, but love light shoes.

I used to adore Ann Taylor Loft when I worked in an office. Lovely quality clothes for a decent price.

(I also used to be a Mizuno girl. They got me through my first couple of marathons. Good shoes!)

I used to love Banana Republic although recently have been having trouble with their slacks fitting on my cyclist thighs, lol. Although that’s a challenge with almost any brand unless I get knit fabric of some sort. Lululemon should make a line of apparel for workplace 🙂
