I am so excited to have been asked to join the DC Ragnar Team to support Girls on the Run!
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
The Girls on the Run lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Participants explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at this age. They also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences. The girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them. They look at the importance of team work and healthy relationships and explore how they can positively connect with and shape the world.
How empowering, supportive and AWESOME!!!!
As a girl, a mom and a mom to a girl, it brings me so much pleasure and joy to run this race and raise funds for the organization.
What is Ragnar?
Ragnar is an overnight running relay race. Myself and 11 of your wonderful women will pile into two vans and tag team running 200(ish) miles, day and night, relay-style. Only one runner hits the road at a time. Each participant runs three times, with each leg ranging between 3-8 miles and varying in difficulty.
I have been selected to run Leg 2 which will equal 13.4 miles total.
I hope you will support me with your prayers, encouragement and well wishes as well as financially.
