With the holiday season in full swing, celebrations feel like an everyday occurrence from Thanksgiving through to the New Year. Last week when I wrote about our yearly traditions, I realized that we do quite a bit of celebrating throughout the year. From birthdays to anniversaries to championships, my year is always filled with celebrating with the people who are important to me and I love that!
In reflection of this past year, I can think of a few more things that I have and will celebrate before the year ends in 22 days!
Celebrating:
-In 23 days (1/1/2016), I will be 42 years old! I love being a part of the 40 and over club and love the fact that most people don’t believe that I am in my 40s;
-my over health- I am the healthiest I have been in my life;
-recovering from 2 injuries and successfully managing a chronic injury;
-1 year of being employed after a year of unemployment;
-1 year of getting right with my creditors after a year of unemployment;
-Paying off a few of said creditors within the year;
-The health of my parents. They continue to struggle with their diseases (severe heart disease and Parkinson’s) but are here and managing the best they can;
-The support of my friends. I have the best group of girlfriends, ones I talk to everyday and ones who I talk to every once in a while. Either way, they are always there when I need them!!
– The support of my family….what can I say-I would not be where I am without them;
-The relationship my kids are developing with my birth father;
-Another year of marriage;
-Another great school year for my kids;
-the success of my kids in their chosen sport (soccer and gymnastics);
A great running year! I have PRd in every race distance (5k, 8k, 10k and 13.1) this year-I wonder what 2016 will bring;
-Joining a track workout group;
-Meeting some awesome people through running;
-Starting my blog and ‘meeting’ some awesome folks through blogging;
-Being selected for ambassadorships for groups, brands and races.
So much to celebrate especially in this festive season!

You’ve had a wonderful year and deserve a huge celebration! So many great things are happening for you. I’m in my 50s and still think “who’s old? not me!” I’ve been on the injured list for 10 weeks but I feel like I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been because I didn’t sit down and let it take control! I worked my butt off! It was great to meet you this year Tamieka!

Great attitude taking your injury and telling it to kick rocks!!! My first knee injury years ago, I totally let it get to me and gained 30lbs!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
