January 2016 Goal review

At the beginning of January, I shared with you my 2016 Goals .

My initial thought was to review/update my goals monthly and/or quarterly. After reviewing my goals, I have decided a monthly check-in on some of my goals would be appropriate and some a quarterly check-in would be appropriate.

Well here we are at the beginning of February and so it is time for a check-in.

-Continue to blog at least 3 times a week-

Week 1- blogged 4 times

Week 2-blogged 1 time (I was traveling)

Week 3-blogged 4 times

Week 4-blogged 4 times

-Find my authentic blog voice: (this will be a quarterly check in-look for an update on this in April)

-Increase blog subscription to 100

This month I have added 7 new followers. That is pretty exciting for me J.  I will be participating in another Blog Hop with Kristy @ Runaway Bridal Planner the next few weeks of this month and I am hopeful to gain a few more followers from there.

Continue to find my ‘blog tribe’: (this will be a quarterly check in-look for an update on this in April)

Self Host

-I have not done anything towards this as of yet.  I am still in the research and debating phase.

Create Mission Statement for the blog: (this will be a quarterly check in-look for an update on this in April)

Begin to research monetizing: -I have not done anything towards this as of yet. I am still in the research and debating phase.

-De-clutter/organize my house:

Can we say THANK YOU to the blizzard of 2016!!! I have 10 days to do this and I am proud to say that I accomplished about 80% of the initial de-clutter/organization…yeah!!!  Next up is my closet …and then developing an organization system and routine.

Study/Pass the NASM Certified Trainer test:

😦  I haven’t even looked at the book.  I did find it while de-cluttering…that counts for something right?

Begin Developing Business plan for personal training: (this will be a quarterly check in-look for an update on this in April)

In the meantime see above ….;(

1 family night a week….does 10 days trapped in the house due to a blizzard count!!! We have not established this as of yet as Jan was a bit crazy with travel.

2 date nights a month…. We have not established this as of yet as Jan was a bit crazy with travel.

Be more present at home. Cell phone on charger/no lap top use until the kids go to bed:

-I have made great strides with this.  I would say that about 70-75% of the time, I have successfully put the devices away…still a work in progress but remarkably better.

Continue to pay off debt…miss no payments/ make no late payments:

monetize blog:  I have not done anything towards this as of yet. I am still in the research and debating phase.

complete weekly savings plan:

-I have set up automatic transfers to occur weekly. I have enlisted my girlfriend to be the keeper of the funds. She will be a great keeper, I will have to write a dissertation, if I need to get some money out-lol!!

Complete 21 day January reset with Laura.

I am in week 2…going well so far

Successfully train for my 1st Triathlon

-I have started taking swim classes and will continue through the Spring. My next step is going to the pool for open swim times to practice what I am learning in swim classes.

Get to my ideal racing weight while determining how to effectively fuel my body

I have been loving using my racing weight cookbook and will be purchasing the racing weight book this weekend.  I plan to fully implement the program after I complete the 21 day reset.

Consistently strength train 2-3 times a week:

Week 1- Worked out 3 times

Week 2- Worked out 3 times

Week 3-Rest week after 6 game prior weekend football tournaments

Week 4-Worked out 4 times

-Remain injury free:

So far, so good. Outside of the pain from my arthritis, I have not developed any new injuries (know on wood!!)

2:00 Half:

I realized the other day that I do not have a half on my 2016 race schedule….looking for one for later in the year….Nov/Dec (any suggestions?)

Determine my comfortable race pace in varying distances (5k-13.1):

(this will be a quarterly check in-look for an update on this in April)

continue to increase speed:

;( We have not had a track workout in FOREVER!!!! Between extreme cold and 3 feet of snow, it just hasn’t happened.  I hope to get back at it soon.

Well there you have it….my 2016 Goal check in.  I have to say that I am very proud of my efforts towards most of my goals.  I will work harder at those I have not touched yet and hope to report with some good updates next month.

ooh that’s a lot of goals at once girlfriend! LOl I am also doing Kristy’s blog hope so I should see you there. Hope you count me as part of your blog tribe. I do find you to be authentic and that is something I strive for as well. I am looking at the Hershey half it’s in October and I hear it’s a good one. Have a great week!

You have made a ton of progress in one month ! Impressive. I find small baby steps work. This month I will go on line and look for information, or contact someone about a topic…rather than saying I need to accomplish it 100%. Baby steps are better than nothing.

I am also looking at Dec halfs & I think we need to make up our minds soon (that is, my husband & me) so that we don’t pay an arm & a leg.

I have really stepped up my blog game now that I have more free time and more sleep (most nights, not so much last night, no idea why).

I’m trying to decide between just going with WordPress vs another host, but the truth is I haven’t really delved into it too much yet. I have a long way to go before I get 100 followers!

But I do feel as though I have found my tribe, so to speak, and that is the difference between this blog and the ones I’ve started in the past, although some of the ones I started in the past I did do for quite a while — except pretty much no one but me & my husband visited them!

Great goals! My husband is very good at determining his racing paces but it’s something I’m still trying to work out myself. I find myself finding one pace that is comfortable and sticking with it. I’ve really been working on pushing for different speeds!
