Happy Wednesday all!!
Have you ever participated in an event for charity?
When I run/race, I try to consider running for charities as I know that there are many charities out there that can use the extra support and funds. I have to admit though, the one thing I really don’t look forward to when running for charity is asking friends and family for those donations. Uggghhh that is the worst part of charity running for me for sure. I have been blessed and honored that every time I have solicited my friends and family for donations, I have met and most time surpassed my fundraising goals and for that I am always so thankful!
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to participate in an event. raise funds for charity and not have to solicit anyone!! How great would that be?
If you’re the type of person who likes to make difference, then I’ve got something for you…Charity Miles!
Every Mile Matters!
MOVE WITH PURPOSE
Get moving with Charity Miles every day. Walk your dog, grab a coffee, go for a run, bike around the neighborhood, shovel some snow. You’ll help earn money for charity and feel great all day!
SUPPORT GREAT CHARITIES
Choose from over thirty world-class charities! All of our partners are leaders in their fields.
With sponsors like Humana, Johnson & Johnson and Chobani, all you have to do is download the app, run it while doing your activity and the donations go to your selected charity through the companies sponsorship!
I mean how easy is that!!
This week Charity Miles is doing something even more special that tickles this educator’s heart!
This week, from April 17 – 23, they have a special Save the Children campaign going partnering with Penguin Random House #ProjectReadathon campaign.
Members will be invited to contribute minutes to our Million Minutes goal by visiting the Charity Miles Impact Hub.
You can also unlock books by logging Charity Miles. Charity Miles has set a goal to log 10,000 Charity Miles for Save the Children. Each mile will translate to one minute read, for every 20 mins a book will be donated. If we reach our goal, we’ll move 2,500 books to children in North America!
Want to make a difference? Visit #ProjectReadathon inside of the Charity Miles App. The more you read, the more book donations you trigger (up to 300,000 books) – at no cost to you!
Today’s reading excerpt is from Handwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson. Hardwiring Happiness: The New Brain Science of Contentment, Calm, and Confidence shows you how to tap the hidden power of everyday experiences to change your brain and your life for the better.
I am looking forward to making my contribution through daily reading and logging miles.
Will you contribute? I hope so!
