Help! I have rested and can’t restart….

Happy Monday All!!

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine blew by so fast. I can barely remember it.

A few highlights:

My sister and I were team captains for the Heels-Cleats-Sneaks Pacing 4 Parkinson’s Charity Team with John Hopkins Movement Research.  Our dad as early onset Parkinson’s and The Johns Hopkins Movement Disorders Center has done wonders to support our dad and our family. We were so happy and proud to run for a great cause. Our team rocked out the Marathon Relay at the Baltimore Running Festival.

We finished in 5:09 and raised over $1100! Not too shabby.

It was a great experience and will will be doing it again next year 😉

Saturday evening although I was TIRED.COM, I got all dolled up to attend my 25th High School Reunion!! I don’t know how that is possible!! We had a fabulous time.

Sunday was suppose to be a slow day with a bday celebration for my dad in the evening.  I had planned a day of hair washing for my daughter, laundry and a COSTCO run.  As I was on my way to Costco, my son’s team leader text to say that there was a 12 pm make up game scheduled. WHAT!!!?? Well there went my easy Sunday! I rushed back home, got my son ready and raced to the field.  We got there right at game time! The boys did amazingly, with no warm up they dominated with a score of 21-0. Those would be goals…not touchdowns! Way to go Lions!

Then it was home to shower and get ready for my dad’s bday celebration. It was a lovely dinner put on my my dad’s fellow colleagues who he worked with when he was a principal.

Ok-Let’s get to the subject at hand!

Health and Fitness:

It has been a month since I have completed my 1st Triathlon. I took a planned 2 week rest session with every intention of getting back on it.  Well 2 weeks has now turned into 4 weeks and I just can’t get my ‘ish together!!! I think I can count on 1 hand the amount of times, I have worked out in the past month. uuugh!!! My eating is not terrible but not great and I can feel the difference in my overall well being.  My clothes are not fitting me the way I would like to, my hydration is off, my sleep off, my mood lest than stellar.  Yet, I can’t seem to get myself going to get back to a space and place where I am feeling better.  I thought by having a Fall back into fitness goal, that would motivate me…yeah not so much. The month is not over yet, but I don’t see myself meeting that goal and that drives me crazy but not crazy enough to get my arse out of the bed in the morning to workout. Yuck…Yuck and more Yuck!!! We will see how the rest of the month goes.

Come on Tamieka….get it together!!

Blogging:

Over the summer, I took a blog break to pull away from the electronics and enjoy the summer with the family.  It was a great decision and I will most likely do it again next summer.  The down side, getting back into blogging is hard.  I didn’t realize the system and  structure that I had developed to blog consistently and to read and comment on blogs that now trying to get back into a bit more challenging that I thought it would be.  A work in progress for sure but making my way back slowly and surely.

I am excited to once again be participating in Kristy’s Grow your Blog Blog-Hop. This will be a great opportunity to get back into the swing of blogging and get me back on track!  My goal is to get back to blogging at least 3 times a week. I think that is most manageable for me.

Feel free to check out the blogger participating in the Blog Hop. I am so excited to catch  up with a few that I already follow and to meet some new blogger friends.

That’s cool that you got to go to your 25th high school reunion! My 10-year one is coming up this year but I can’t go since I’m currently living across the country and will be working then, but…such is life!

Great job to your son and his soccer team! That’s awesome! I really need to make a Costco run today too! :p

Oh girl I have missed you!
Glad to see you are in the hop again!
Looks like you had a great weekend even with the surprise soccer game!
You looked awesome for your reunion!
I hate when I feel unmotivated. Sometimes I find an upcoming 5k to get my booty moving or someone to keep me accountable!
    You’ve got this!!!
(Ps, my computer wasn’t letting me comment…hope it’s just something on my end, but wanted to let you know. Hope this comes in from my phone ok!)
