Who is Fit Balling Running Mom?


I am a 42 year old wife, mother of 2, women’s contact flag football player, weight trainer and runner who lives in the DC area.

4 years ago, I vainly wanted to lose weight to look good in a 2 piece bathing suit for my girlfriend’s 40th birthday birthday trip to Belize.

A funny thing happened, I fell in love with healthy living, fitness and how I felt being healthier!

I am passionate about all things healthy and fitness and passionate about inspiring/supporting people to have a healthy and fit lifestyle.  I love the example I am setting for my both of my children but especially my daughter. I love that I am showing her how to be a healthy and strong female.

Over the past 4 years (since 2012), I have lost over 20 pounds through many avenues; My Fitness Pal, Body for Life, Herbalife, Whole 30-all of which help me with my fitness goals and I have kept it off through healthy eating and being active.

In 2013, I tore my ACL, my lateral and anterior meniscus which lead to replacement surgery in July. As a part of my rehab, I set a goal to run the annual turkey trot on Thanksgiving Day as well as to do a one leg squat. With the support of my Dr. and Physical Therapist, I achieved both of my goals.  I have falling back in love with running (I ran in high school and college) and have a new found love for weight training.

My weeks are activity filled with playing football,running races, lifting weights ans most recently swimming as I transition into a triathlete this year.

Why I blog?

I started blogging to clear my head of my thoughts, to allow my friends to stop hearing me chit chat so much about health and fitness and to find other people that I could relate to. I try to blog 2-3 times a week, connect with bloggers daily and look to find a new blog to follow or ‘stalk’ each week.

I hope to use this blog to jot my thoughts down on health and fitness, football, running, family.

I have been blogging since March of 2015 and I am having a great time meeting other bloggers and getting some great ideas on health and fitness topics.
