Well here it is January 2016…you know what that means…..Goal setting season has begun!! I did not write out my goals for 2015 and so I have no idea if I accomplished any of them…tsk…tsk! This year, I have decided to write them down so that I can hold myself more accountable.
Last week, I wrote how I do not do resolutions any more but prefer to set goals for myself. You can read about that (HERE). I find that goals are much more attainable for me and allow for adjustments and in the end better chance of success.
My 2016 *goals* are still a work in progress but so far here is what I have:
Blog:
-Continue to blog at least 3 times a week
-Find my authentic blog voice
-Increase blog subscription to 100
-Continue to find my ‘blog tribe’
-Self Host
-Create Mission Statement for the blog
-Begin to research monetizing
Personal:
-De-clutter/organize my house
-Study/Pass the NASM Certified Trainer test
-Begin Developing Business plan for personal training
Family:
–1 family night a week
-2 date nights a month
-Be more present at home..cell phone on charger/no lap top use until the kids go to bed
Financial:
–Continue to pay off debt…miss no payments/ make no late payments
-monetize blog
-complete weekly savings plan
Health/Fitness
–Complete 21 day January reset with Laura. More on that tomorrow!
–Successfully train for my 1st Triathlon
-Get to my ideal racing weight while determining how to effectively fuel my body
-consistently strength train 2-3 times a week
– Remain injury free
Running:
-2:00 Half
-Determine my comfortable race pace in varying distances (5k-13.1)
-continue to increase speed
*For each goal, I will write out my plan for execution to meet my 2016 goals..I will share that as I develop it.
Well there you have it. I plan to do a monthly and quarterly check in of my goals. I am hopeful this will hold me more accountable and encourage me to stay focused and on track.
What are your 2016 goals?

Great goals! I need to declutter and organize, but my husband informed me that he doesn’t think my personality is capable of it. LOL. Hope to see you at a race this year.

Ha! The decluttering and organizin is a hard work in progress but I am determined to get it done!! I have decided I am going to host a family dinner once a month….this will force me to clean and organize for sure. Can’t have my mom and mother in law shaking their heads at me-lol!

You have some great goals! my overarching goal for 2016 is to be more consistent so I kept my goals to: run more (run my first 42km); blog more; travel; hike/camp; cut out sugar and get debt free! Good luck on your goals, I look forward to watching you achieve them.

I’ll definitely be interested in your plans (especially as monetizing the blog is also on my list!).
That is a whole lotta goals, but I know how determined you are.

As I wrote them out, I was like damn this is a lot but since they are categorized I think that helps me feel less stressed 🙂
I don’t want to rush into monetizing but I feel like if there is a simple way to make a little bit of cash and support the blog -why not?

I love how you broke down each of your goals on here – seems like it’s the year of the sub-2 half marathon 🙂 That’s one of my big goals for this year as well. In addition to increasing my readership and hopefully monetizing when the time is right. I’m headed to the FitBloggin Conference in Indy this July – any chance I’ll see you there?? Happy TOTR!

I so wanted to go to FitBLoggin but it is the same week as one of my football tournaments. So upset…I know it will be AMAZING!!!!
My last half was 2:07:54 that was in December and my half before that in October was 2:13:something…2:00 is totally a push goal but I think I can do it!
We got this! Cheers to 2016!

I have not really made it to the write out my goals stage yet.
You have a great list going and I totally relate to wanting to get to the ideal racing weight, getting out of debt, and organizing my house. All huge needs for me right now 🙂
…and if I could manage to post more than once or twice a week – it’d be a miracle! I am weak in that area.

Writing them out is really helpful to me.
Organizing my house….uugh such a hard task, I think I might actually hire a declutter coach (do they have those-lol!)
Posting has become a bit easier for me…totally helps me to get the million and one thoughts out of my head!!

Good luck with your resolutions in 2016! Good idea to categorise them, makes them easier to remember 🙂

I love those goals and resolutions. I think you have a mix in there 😀
I would like to go self hosting this year too but I haven’t learned how to do it yet so I didn’t put it as a goal yet. I need to find out if it’s realistic with time and effort and if it’s worth it all.
I’ll be looking forward to hearing about the 21 day reset tomorrow. I hope you have a great day, lady.

Thanks. Ha, I guess there are a combination in there….
I have heard self hosting just gives you more options and control of the overall look of your blog. I am going to keep researching and chit chatting with folks for sure to make sure I have good info.
