My Sunday/Monday’s keep getting away from me and I have not been able to link up with my girls, Tricia and Holly and all the other bloggers sharing their Weekly Wrap.
I do miss checking in with everyone, so I am using my break at work to do a quick check in.
Last week was suppose to be week 7 of my weight traiing program but with 2 races for the week, I decided I would use week 7 as a taper week and relax it a bit.
Monday:#moveitmonday
2 rounds of my created 22 too Many full body workout:

-22 pull ups
-22 squat jumps
-22 deadlift

Approximately 22 veterans a day take their own lives, a report released in 2012 by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) shows.
Tuesday:
I forgot to set my workout alarm so got up a bit late but fit in a quick 15 min ab workout. My plan is to do this every other day this month. The hubby then added 100 push ups to my plan. We will see how that goes 😉
Wednesday: Global Running Day!
I got to participate in the DC leg of the United Relay. It was hot and humid at the 3pm start time but running down in the Nation’s Capitol made it all good. Even though I live in the ares, it is very rear that I get to run in DC except for a race.
Thursday/Friday:Rest Day
Saturday: Zooma Annapolis 10k
(Use my code TAMIEKA16 for a discount off ZOOMA Cape Cod and ZOOMA Florida!)
A little back story about this race:
2 weeks ago my sister and our friend, decided to run Zooma Annapolis 10k with me.
The next day, my sister broke her arm in our football game.
1 week ago, she had surgery to repair her arm.
Since Zooma does not allow for refunds or deferment she decided she would run/walk it.
Her girlfriend and I served as her human bubble so no one would bump into her.
Going up the hill onto the bridge, I literally had to hold her arm up to relieve swelling and tingling…..Did that stop her…heck no!!
She pushed through and we finished strong!
No PRs for this race and that is A-ok….the support I gave my sister tops a PR any day!!
A little after race deliciousness from Mission BBQ!!
Sunday: Football
Well there it is ya’ll….my weekly wrap for the week May 30th.
How was your week? Have you ever had Mission BBQ?
I would love to stay connected:
Love the 22 day! Very creative. I can’t believe your sister ran/walked Zooma with a broken arm. She must have had excellent protectors. That will be a special memory for all of you. Mmm….the BBQ looks delicious. Thanks for linking with us Tamieka!

Both races sound tough for different reasons. I’m amazed that your sister took part, that takes a lot of grit!

The were most challenging due to the heat and humidity…gotta love the DC area!
Yeah, she is a tough cookie most of the time (especially when I give her a little push!)

What a great thing to do with/for your sister!!! PR’s are over-rated, the company of friends/family is much more important 😉 That 22 workout looks intense…not sure if I could live through 22 burpees and/or the pull-ups (UGH).

I am glad your sister still got to do the race- great support team! Must have been a pretty intense football game. My arm hurts just thinking about it.
The 22 a day is an alarming rate. I first learned of this with my Team RWB and I just couldn’t believe it. It’s great to get the awareness out there and hopefully more and more programs. After all, we owe them everything.
I too have trouble getting my link-up included but I hate missing!!!
Have a great rest of the week!!

So great to meet you this weekend! And wow, your sister is quite something. I’m not sure that I’d be up for still racing if I had just recently broken my arm.
